Problem
Labtekservices.co.uk had several blockers for their b2b customers to experience a seamless experience in purchasing products. Our audit resulted in the following:
- Theme is incompatible with WooCommerce B2B features (Divi theme) like quote request
- Outdated design makes many visitors abandon the site before viewing products
- Server not optimized for WooCommerce (e.g. missing real-cron & object caching)
- Slow checkout process due to conflict-sensitive php template
Solution
After our team provided the recommendation, we gave the company the option to have it implemented by their developer or let us do it. They chose the latter. We decided to create a staging environment and work from there. We tackled this in several chronological stages:
- Create an isolated staging environment with test payments enabled
- Replace the Divi theme with Blocksy Premium and recreate the pages in Gutenberg
- Replace the b2b plugin with our WooCommerce B2B add-on and configure it according to the requirements
- Replace the default checkout with the Block Checkout
- Ajaxify the My-Account page with advanced caching for blazing fast tab switching and content view
- Work together with the client’s web designer to finalize the design of pages
Once the client was satisfied with the results, we pushed the changes to their production website and further optimized the SEO & cache settings.
Result
- The website loading time for a first-time visitor went from 12 seconds to 4 seconds
- Customers stopped reporting issues on checkout
- Client started to receive quotes directly from the new website for the first time ever
- Database query calls dropped with 76% in the first month of go-live while visitor activity increased with 35%
